The Professional Team at The Cancer Center
At the Cancer Center of Gaithersburg, we take a great deal of pride in providing the best possible services available to all our patients. To that end, under the direction of Dr. Anu Gupta, this center has assembled a staff of highly qualified professionals dedicated to their areas of expertise.
Our Radiation Therapists
The radiation therapists are specially trained in operating the machinery at the Cancer Center at Gaithersburg. This includes both linear accelerators, CT simulator, and the High Dose Rate Brachytherapy. The therapists at the Center hold a bachelor’s degree in radiation therapy and are licensed by the state of Maryland. Each therapist must complete annual training regarding radiation safety as well as maintaining their required continuing medical education credits for licensure.
Our Medical Dosimetrist
The dosimetrist at the Cancer Center at Gaithersburg works with the physicians and physicists to do treatment planning for external beam radiation therapy including 3D conformal, IMRT, IGRT, as well as High Dose Rate (Brachytherapy) treatment planning. Our dosimetrist is board certified in medical dosimetry and has over 10 years experience in the field.
Our Medical Physicists
The physicists at the Cancer Center at Gaithersburg are intimately involved in treatment planning, doing quality assurance on the equipment, maintaining the equipment to meet all state and federal regulations, checking patient charts on a weekly basis to assure appropriate treatments are being delivered. The physicists at the Cancer Center at Gaithersburg are board certified by the American Board of Radiology, Medical Physics and have over 20 years of experience.
Our Practice Administrator
The office is managed by our Practice Administrator who has over 15 years experience in medical operations. She is well versed in insurance/billing and is available to answer any questions a patient or family may have.
